Pascoe Vale South Primary School is an inclusive school welcoming all students. The school’s Strategic Plan has a strong focus on students acquiring effective and sound literacy and numeracy skills, enabling all children to thrive through a differentiated curriculum personalised to their individual needs. This includes support through intervention, extension and a program for students with additional needs. Alongside this are a variety of specialist programs including physical education, visual arts, music, Italian and DigiTec/ICT.  Our specialist programs are aimed at extending student involvement through community-based extracurricular events. This includes the interschool sport program, art exhibition, swimming carnival and more. In addition to this, we have a strong emphasis on student voice, which has assisted our students in being able to follow their passions through choir, music and many lunchtime activities. There is also opportunity for students to participate in our camping and excursion programs, year level dinners and many other extracurricular events throughout the year.

Our staff undertake continuous and ongoing professional development. Just as our students learn, inquire and solve problems, so too do our staff. Staff work and plan collaboratively in teams and are continually improving their teaching and learning techniques through quality professional development, peer coaching and mentoring programs.  

Our school has a history of providing high quality education to the Pascoe Vale South community and surrounding district. With our history, a strong sense of belonging and familiarity quickly develops. The families, teachers and children have a strong community spirit and are committed to ensuring the school remains a happy and safe place for learning. Classroom helpers are always welcome and are encouraged to assist in their child’s classroom. Regular informal contact and communication with teachers is valued and every effort is made to develop a supportive relationship between home and school. We have an amazing School Council body, who along with the staff, are committed to ensuring that all programs are delivered in line with current evidence-based practices, alongside the Department of Education guidelines.

We currently have an enrolment of 285 children housed in 13 classrooms. Our recently renovated and updated learning and playground spaces, allow all of our students to explore and engage with nature, whilst learning in a fun and inclusive space. Our school buildings and grounds are modern, flexible and provide all who learn and work here with a sense of pride and inspiration to learn in a uniquely beautiful setting. We are currently undertaking a building project to create a place for the community to use in different ways which will further promote community involvement within our grounds.
