At Pascoe Vale South, Junior School Council plays an important role in giving voice in representing each and every one of our students. Through the JSC, students are actively encouraged in decision-making, empowered to make change and provided with opportunities to demonstrate good leadership and citizenship skills. Throughout the year we plan to organize and manage fundraising events such as theme days, crazy hair days and student talent quests. Monies made from these days are often donated to various charities and also to the school to beautify the grounds. The events are widely supported by our school community and we will be grateful for all of the support JSC will receive.
We also plan to discuss issues concerning our students and ways of improving our school. We seek to resolve these issues through reporting and receiving feedback from each class, which then is fed back at a weekly JSC meeting with the Principal Class team on a fortnightly basis.

The process of becoming a JSC representative begins with students having to nominate themselves. From there, the process of devising a campaign about why they should be elected becomes the focus for the candidates. Speeches are scheduled during class time, followed by each student voting by completing a ballot form which the classroom teacher will count. The community will be informed of who the next Junior School Captains are for the whole year.
